Cooking Tech: The Best of the Best

1st Place - Magic Bullet Set

The Magic Bullet is a home / dorm room cook's best friend. It does everything from make margaritas, milk shakes, sorbet, and any other mixed drink. Then it also slices and dices pretty much anything for you to use for cooking. With the entire set you could make salsa, guacamole, and nacho cheese all in 5 minutes. Then make cocktails for an entire party. I want to open up a food truck that mainly uses the Magic Bullet, but the menu would be endless.

Best Cooking Function:
Using it to make grilled chicken or steak quesadillas filling or the mint double chocolate milkshake, both scene in the video above.

2nd Place - George Foreman Grill

The infamous George Foreman Grill lets you cut the fat as the angled grill plates allow the fat to fall into a nice little cup for easy throw-away or reuse. The grill is amazing, simply plug it in and cook pretty much anything form a grilled cheese or quesadilla to a porter-house steak or a grilled chicken breast. The machine works in rain, hail, sleet, or snow, just remember to make sure your roommates unplugged it after using it.

Best Cooking Function:
Favorite snack, a grilled cinnamon raisin english muffin with pepper jack cheese.

3rd Place - 2-Sided Cast-Iron Grill / Griddle

Though this is not encompass very much technology, being able to grill in your kitchen is an amazing advantage during the winter. This product is special because you can use the griddle to cook pancakes, omelets, and an entire pack of bacon on one side of the grill, creating enough breakfast to feed an entire family, then use the grill side of the pan to grill chicken or steak for lunch and dinner.

Best Cooking Function:
Being able to cook a full pack of bacon simultaneously with pancakes, or Canadian bacon and omelets at the same time, or any other combination of breakfast foods.

British Scientists Create Unbreakable Pint Glasses to Save Lives

The Nalgene for Alcoholics

One of the most pressing issues in Britain seems to be drunken hooligans breaking pint glasses as there are "87,000 alcohol-related glass attacks each year," costing the "National Health Service 2.7 billion pounds ($4.3 billion) per year." The shatter-proof pint glasses will hopefully save lives and save the British money.

There are, "two types of shatterproof technologies are in the works: one has a thin bio-resin coating on the inside that strengthens it, and the other bonds two thin layers of glass together in the same way as car windshields. Both are difficult to break and keep the shards together if they do fracture, rendering them useless as weapons."
"The government is touting the prototypes as the first significant improvement in bar glassware in decades. The plan is to introduce the new glasses for use on a voluntary basis in pubs if tests show they are durable, cost-effective and safe."

The Future: Beer Robots?

This Week in THE FUTURE,

As conveyor belts have replaced many waiters and waitresses at many sushi restaurants across the world, the Heineken Beer robot is bound to replace bartenders within the next 20 years. Spotted by Engadget at the Kinetica Art Fair, the beer robot may soon replace dogs as mans best friend.

I always wondered why Heineken decided to be the first beer with a commercially sold mini keg. Now I know.

TV on your iPhone

TOP Ways to Watch TV on your iPhone

1. Sling iPhone Application

The major problem with the Sling iPhone app is that you need to also purchase a Sling box and have it hooked up to a cable box that no one else is using. If this is something that you would not mind, then the Sling iPhone application is perfect for you.

2. Mophie TV Pack

The FLO TV Mophie iPhone, application and encasing allows you to watch HD basic TV from your iPhone while on the go. The encasing makes the iPhone 2mm thicker and much heavier, but still lets you watch broadcast TV.
